My father-in-law was admitted to a nursing home and his roommate would yell everytime my father-in-law turned up his TV. IR headphones seemed like the perfect solution. These headphones were much cheaper than anything else I found. When they arrived I discovered the power supply wasn't include!! The base unit had 2 bare wires hanging! A trip to the electronic store and $17 later, I spliced a power supply to the unit. After that things were fine. We plugged the transmitter into the TV, and my father-in-law was very happy. The sound quality is good and the headphones muffle most of the outside noise. My father-in-law says the headphones are very comfortable and are very easy on battery life. If the unit came with a wired power supply I would've rated it much higher.

We recently installed an Emerson monitor in our family van so our children could watch DVD's when we travel. The wireless headphones are well work the cost, esp from Overstock.com. My wife would lean over periodically and whisper to me " This is awesome." Anyone who has children and goes on long trips should consider this type of setup. No wires to fuss with, and a little slice of heaven with the kids.

I ordered these headphones for my in-laws. My husband and I live with them to assist them in their elder years. (He is 82 and she is 80.) They watch a lot of television in the evening. Since both of them suffer from hearing loss, the volume on the television would be as high as it could go. I am very sensitive to noise, so when they watched tv, I was guaranteed to get a headache. The tv was so loud, that I could hear it word for word outside of the house. These headphones and transmitter have been a life saver! They can have the volume as loud as they want and my husband and I do not have to hear a word of what is being said. It took my husband les then 30 minutes to install the transmitter and my in-laws have found the headphones very easy to work. My father in-law has dementia and he knows how to turn them off and on. He does have a little bit of trouble adjusting the volume, but my mother in-law does not. This set up was priced at about half of what we expected to pay, is easy to install and use, and was delivered in a timely fashion. We did not even wait a week to receive them. The downsides of the transmitter and headsets are that you have to buy a part to install them seperately, they can become uncomfortable after having them on for an extended period of time (my understanding is that they become uncomfortable after the user has worn them for 5-6 hours straight) and they go through batteries rather quickly. Overall, this is a very good deal, easy to operate, has created quiet evenings in our house and has made my whole family very happy.

I'm in a wheelchair and I had to move in with family so to keep everone happy I bought these headphones because how load I keep the volume on my T.V. What a shock to me when I opened the box and found out there is NO POWER SUPPLY just two wires 1 Red 1 Black marked 12Volt. So now it sits on my shelf in my closet because I've called every electronic store out there and they say bring it in we have to see it. So I'm not sure of the features, sound and all the rest.

We couldn't use the product as is. The power souce for the transmitter was not included in the sale of this product. Once that was connected we were both satisfied with it's operation and use. We are enjoying the sound quality and convenience.

These IR headphones are very clear sounding and offer a 2CH capability for a car DVD system. My kids love them!
