The product is good and seems to improve the outgoing coverage of the router.
I bought a Tenvis IP391W wireless outdoor camera that comes with the standard short length antenna. I'm guessing the gain is around 2dBi since I found no specs addressing the true number. Having installed it on the garage door frame outside the house it worked well until the door came down. The signal was fine while the door was up but not getting anywhere near the max frame rate offered from the specs sheet. With the door down it was a different story altogether. Lost connection and a disappointing frame rate were the norm. So I started looking into replacing the antenna on the camera. I came across the Eforcity wireless signal booster twin pack here at Overstock at a terrific price. It comes with a 9dBi gain antenna but more importantly an attached 6' pigtail reverse polarity SMA connector put the antenna inside the garage taking the signal-blocking door out of the equation. Instantly my video picture improved with a much faster refresh rate. They're exactly what I needed and kept me from a possible return merchandise scenario. Thanks Overstock and Eforcity. You saved my caboose.

Reading some of the reviews, you get mixed feelings on this product. I can say the antenna works great and for the price you cannot beat it. Some of the reviews are likley negative because many do not understand antenna theory. This is a verticle Magnet mount antenna and it needs a Ground Plane to work properly. With a small piece of metal for the magnet to stick to the antenna will work fine. Even with the losses in the small coax this antenna performs well with a ground plane. I as at 1 bar and 1mbs on my desktop. Using the 6 feet of coax and the antenna mounted on a metal bookshelf frame I have full bars and 54mbs connection. The ground makes all the difference. Without the ground plane connection drops to 24mbs. You cannot buy the reverse polarity SMA connector for this price! Not a super high quality antenna, but because of the price, I rated 5 stars. Put a piece of metal under the antenna if you want it to work right.

These antennas, at 7dbi gain, LOWERED my signal strength, measured with NetStumbler, compared to stock 2dbi antennas. The packages are labeled "Cell Phone Booster Antenna". I will be attempting to return this product for a full refund, as what I received is not what was advertised. The product is indeed what is pictured and described, but does NOT perform as advertised. This is nothing but a re-purposed cellular antenna.

This antenna will extend the reach of your wireless card - by as much as 3 feet (the length of the cord). Nothing more. Actually reduced my signal strength received slightly over more standard antenna.
Not quite the boost in wifi reception/transmit I was hoping for. The antenna cable does allow the remote placement of the antenna. Which is a consolation.
