very good for nikon camera with big lenses
I received the tripod this afternoon ( 12 hours ago nearly).. I have put my Philips SPC900NC ( same model as a Philips SPC890) on the tripod, then linked up to skype... the tripod happily stayed in place all day. I then switched over to my Nikon Digital Camera with fixed lens fully stretched out ( My Nikon Camera is identical to a DSLR SLR Camera... not the cheaper little pocket camera's ) .... so my camera is heavy. Again, i put it on the tripod and made a few videos.. used the auto take picture, feature. Tripod did not topple over or fall down.. stayed in one place. Everything tested was indoors... here in las vegas we get a lot of wind, I do not think this would stay up in the las vegas wind on a windy evening.... you might neet to take a little basket with some string on it... and there are ROCKS everywhere in vegas ... just put a few rocks in the basket and problem solved, because there is a good little hook in the middle of the tripod. for adding a weight :)... why carry a heavy weight? when you can carry a light basket and some string :) bargain hunters solution. All in all, a great tripod... I nearly ordered a "Neewer" from Amazon.com for nearly $10 cheaper... but I opted for this one as I preferred the reviews I read... and overstock has this one, cheaper than amazon. Also.. when all the legs are fully stretched out and the center piece is fully raised... this tripod is exactly the same height is me .. 6ft tall... reached the top of my hair ! I highly recommend this tripod for anyone on a budget under $100. I am very pleased with this tripod for INDOOR use.... i will rarely ever use it outdoors.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? the image is poor, the actual item is a brown bronze color, much nicer than the image
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? appears strong solid and quite light weight, with nice carrying handle, no defects I found today
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I like it, appears and seams high quality except a few plastic bits.
