DirecTV RC23 4-function Universal Remote Control (Refurb)

Kids lost both remotes so I finally gave in and replaced then. Found them on Overstock.com and they were much cheaper and are essentially the same remote. Kids are happy and I don't have to get up to change the channel anymore. ;-)

One of the remotes was unusable, Was not able to properly insert batteries into battery compartment. The area did not allow battery to be inserted freely into compartment. could not establish contact for proper operation.

The remote control works very well. I had a little trouble programing it. There isn't much to setting it up but you have to do exactly what it says. I entered the code numbers several times before it worked. When I was showing my husband how it wasn't responding to the codes entered, it finally acepted them and worked great! Take your time. It has a selector to use it in four functions. Right now I have only been using the TV setting. It works for the volumn, channel, and mute. Could be more, but that is all I use.

Our rabbits chewed the buttons off the original and the cost was much more reasonable here. The colored buttons are smaller but that's fine. Direstions were included and it was a simple 3min. process to change over from our old remote.

This remote does everything I expected, operates my DirectTV receiver and my TV. It replaced my old broken Hughes remote.
