Computer was exactly what my grandson needed. It is fast and software came loaded and it was almost a plug and play effort. I plan to purchase a second for my daughter.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? excellent image; accurately described the computer
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? no issues with the computer so far
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. I have owned Dell products in the past and the quality is excellent
Just be sure you know what you're buying. I got this refurb Dell for a friend, and sure enough, it needed tweaking. Not only did it still come up with the error messages that likely sent it back for refurb, but it took forever to get Windows installed and then load MS Office. Glad I wasn't charging for my time! Still, it runs like a scared rabbit and will be a blessing to the poor 89-y/o man who was trying to use a barebones HP with minimal RAM and XP Home.
I finally sent the second one back. These computers are not being checked out as they should be. They are expired leased computers from the government. The first one I had would not recognize my screen. After spending 2 hours with tech support from Dell, the tech finally said I should send it back. The second computer booted up once I loaded up 2 programs (word processing) and would not boot up again. tech support from Dell again said there is a problem with mother board. I would not take one of these computers if it were free. Wound up buying a new Gateway. After saying that I must applaud Overstock. Both times no questions asked they handled my concerns and acted in a professional quick manner. The second time they sent my refund within a couple of days of getting the second puter back. Its unfortunate they are getting bad computers that are not being examined carefully.
