  • Great for elder user

    I purchase this refurbished dell for my 74 year old mother. Her previous computer could not run windows the 7/8 software. This unit is fast, and was easy to upgrade the memory (after watching a youtube demo). Mom can go on line and pay her bills, read email and search without the bottleneck from lack of speed. Considering that this unit cost over 2 grand new, the $218 price is great.

    I downloaded word onto the computer and it comes out garbage-a comuter that I cannot do my work on is pretty much a glorified email computer. Next time I will buy a new computer, not a refurbished,

Two questions please...I am a novice when it comes to techy stuff, so please bear with me. #1 - Does this computer have wireless capabilities? And if not, can a wireless card be inserted? #2 - One reviewer suggested it didn't handle Word very well. I will want to install Microsoft Office and Quicken. Hi msprincipal, we were able to verify with our support team. This unit doesn’t come with WiFi preinstalled, but you can always install a USB WiFi card in one the 8 USB ports. This unit can handle the programs mentioned although we would recommend consulting a professional to make everything run smoothly for you. Thanks for your interest, Please retain the box and packing materials. These will be required if you need to ship the computer for warranty service and maintenance. Joy Systems, Inc will provide 12 months of warranty support that starts from the original purchase date. The Joy Systems Warranty will cover all costs related to parts, labor and shipping that are associated with in-house repair of defective hardware. Accidental damage is not covered. This warranty only applies to customers within the continental United States (excluding AK, HI, PR) and Canada. Products may not be returned for credit or refunds. All damages caused by the end-user will void the warranty. Computers shipped to Joy Systems by the end user with inadequate packaging are deemed potentially damaged and may restrict any and all future warranty support for that computer. Empty shipping boxes with packing foam are available by request and can be shipped to customers within the continental United States only. All repairs will be done at the Joy Systems New Jersey Repair Center. Joy Systems will not provide reimbursements for unauthorized third party repairs. Any parts or upgrades installed by the customer which were not included with the computer at the time of purchase must be removed prior to returning a computer to Joy Systems.
