    No problems with startup, where this unit was easily "plug & play". Purchased this unit for my mother, who needs some power for pics, emails and Skype, but more for reliability and this unit has proven to meet that need. I would recommend and would purchase again.

    This was a great buy. computer came all loaded with operating system and everything worked great.

  • good replacement for older desktop

    Ordered this to replace a 10 yr old Dell desktop that died recently. It performs better than the old one, although it is slower than my new laptop, but I expected that based on the specs. It was not difficult to hook up and so far we are pleased with the performance. We have been using it for 3 weeks and not had any major issues.

The built-in 10/100/1000 network card (NIC) I would have preferred a standalone card which could be swapped out, or a card that could be upgrade in the future via firmware. Preferably Intel, or 3Com. The NIC chip can be disabled via the BIOS. The eight USB version 2.0 ports (six in the back, two in the front) are a welcome addition especially the two in the front which are not hidden behind an annoying hinged door and by using one of the USB ports you can use the Actiontec 802AIN Wireless N USB Network Adapter and have wireless wifi. overstockcustomercare1 on Jan 18, 2013

Second question. This one’s tricky: I don't really want to re-install all my programs and files, so if I clone my existing hard drive to the HD that comes with this unit, can I then use the Win7 Installation CD to upgrade from my existing Win2000 operating system? dennismp on Oct 30, 2012

You cannot upgrade directly from WIN 2000 to Win 7 with the CD that comes with the computer. Win 7 has to be installed from scratch. So that will not work. overstockcustomercare1 on Nov 2, 2012
