Please do not buy this product under any circumstances. I am an IT that works on a military base. The government bought these because they were cheap. This particular model has a problem with over heating. The size of the computer is too small for its own good.

Worked great the first 36 hours! After that the mother board fried. Thankfully Dell is going to get me a free mother board to replace the bad one. Use extreme caution ordering this computer.

I'v bought several of these refurb Dells now for my company and have had no problems. The XP license alone is almost worth the cost of these systems.

Good value for basic functions, does everything I want. Had to adjust resolution to accomodate my old monitor. The USB in front is awkward, but there are two more ports in the back.

this is one of the best deals I have gotten in A long time. we got this computer for our daughter and it works great. As a matter of fact it works better then the new dell we got. it looks brand new and works right out of the box.I am thinking of getting another one for us this is a great deal!! thanks overstock.

I was out looking for an economical way to provide a back up computer for my home, discovered the Dell on Overstock and bought two!! Both are up and running great and we¿re very happy with how quickly the purchase was delivered and the way the product performs. Although there is no documentation with it we¿re pretty savvy and are glad not to have all the ¿junk¿ to deal with (of course ask us that if it crashes!)!!

I purchased the computer for my mother. When she received the computer she was happy with the performance except the CD/DVD drvie is not working and will need to be replaced because it did not work when it arrived.

For under a $150.00? you cant get anything better! Two days after I got it and for only around $24.00 upgraded the memory to 1GB and now this is even better, dont even want to use my laptop anymore and to make it even better just found a 512 MB video card ( on overstock ) for less than $55.00. Well me and my kids are happy with the computer and might even get another one.

The hard drive has almost no space. Its very slow and really only good for searching the internet. Just running Office on it basically is all it seems to handle. The DVD/CD drive only works sporadically. The Video card is very, very low.

Specs stated it had dvd rw feature, but no burning software included. Not even sure it's a dvd-rw drive. Missing quite a few essential components. Won't even PLAY a dvd. But i needed a cheap replacement in a jiffy. Works well enough, just not what I thought I ordered. Also, it HUMS quite loudly, at times sounds like a washing machine. The Optiplex 170L I originally had, was perfect, with lots of extras (burning capabilities, microsoft office, etc.), but a severe virus locked it up, no fault of Dell or Overstock. This GX270 is a smaller (in size) version of that and probably wasn't worth the cheap refurbished price afterall.

great product for the price. came in a timely manner. packaged and everything, just needed a few restarts before it got to working properly. has operating systems but no program software, which is no biggie i just use computer for quick browsing and research.

It came with XP Pro SP2, booted up perfectly. I upgraded the computer with 2 Gig of ram and a 160 Gig hard drive, with 2 partitions. I installed VMWare Server also and am running a windows 2003 server machine inside of it. The performance is very good for what I need just to do some testing. The computer is pretty small and does not take up too much space standing up. I hope it will last a few years, I am very happy with it so far. Only negative thing is there are only 2 slots but are half height AGP(1) and PCI(1). It would be a nice DVR but you would have to find a half height TV Tuner card.

so far I have had not problems with the computer- it is a refurbished dell. I have only owned HP computers up until now but the computer seems to be working just fine.

I bought this item without asking questions...upon recieving it I found out there is no connection for the internet(DSL) I had to order an external connection...it does however have the an ethernet connection...The computer also is not equipped with any software...I would have preferred a computer that came preloaded like when you buy them new...I was able to get some software just not what was probably available when the computer was originally bought...The machine seems to stay in hibernation or sleep mode because when I log off & turn the computer off it comes back on.I thought someone was going in behind me and using it without turning it off until it happened one night when I was the last person on and the next morning my son & husband were gone and it was back on...The computer is very fast and easy to navigate...

These are great machines for work - not much to talk about in terms of fancy specs, but they're easy to install and service. We needed to quickly set up 5 PCs for some new temps at the office, and these were ready to go out the box. These units have been running fine for about 3 months now, with no hardware issues yet. I installed a DVDRW in one of these - took 3 minutes, didn't need to yank any covers and didn't need to disturb the user's desk. I just had to move the monitor aside. Thing opens like a book which is very neat.

I would recommend this product to everyone. This Dell system really saved me a lot of money. Its performance is really stood out. FAST and RELIABLE. Great Buy! I don't see why others are complaining about it. With this price and quality, I truly think this is a great buy. Thanks Overstock!

The first one I received didn't even turn on... Good news is that Overstock was very quick to fix and sent me another one right over... This one is working fine so far, so good...

Fast as lightning, compact, and super easy to install. Oh, and for less than 300 bucks AND delivered to my door. It's almost criminal.

I purchased this for my boyfriend for Christmas, we were both thrilled! It's the more compact version PC. It' fast, but has no virus protection, as some come with. Kind of slow to arrive, may have been due to the holidays. Overall, very pleased!

I bought this for my mother-in-law to replace a 7 year old machine. She is a moderate internet user and file shares pictures and video. Using broadband helps optimize the machine. The only down side is there were several bots in the XP installed on the machine which, for an uninitiated user, may scare them into buying needless and poor software. Otherwise great value!
