Yikes, what a nightmare. We purchased it for our son for Christmas. It isn't possible to adjust the volume of the microphones, without adjusting the volume of the music, thus drowning out the person(s) singing into the microphone(s). Therefore, we are very disappointed with this purchase, and planning on returning this item as soon as the Post Office opens! Now we will be out the return postage and the restocking fees. I would certainly shop locally before I made this type of purchase online, unless you are purchasing a namebrand product that is familar to you. Happy shopping and hope your luck is better than ours.

We bought this as a gift for our friends, and the1st system they received did not work properly. The sound was crackling and the picture was jumping. We returned the item to Overstock and they sent a brand new replacement. My friends just called to let me know they were having the exact same problem with the replacement system. Since both of the systems were faulty, we are returning the 2nd system and will use our refund to buy a different brand from Overstock

Machine is pretty good, but the mic is a bit cheap and easy to break.

I'm not going to say they are all junk, but the one I received certainly was. To be fair, the system worked for the first few hours for two different sessions. Then I notice the microphone headpiece was cracked -no big deal. Then, the mic cord seperated from the mic to which the mic was now worthless- again no big deal (I have a back up mic). The next thing that went wrong was that there was a loose part inside the machine - not big deal the unit still works. Then in a middle of a song....the unit quit working. I turned the power button off and on and the unit would not turn on. I took the casing of the unit to see if I could see anything obvious- well I know nothing about electronics so I wasnt able to fix it but I could see what was loose part was inside....it was one of the four screws holding the CD drive unit in place. Two other screws were loose on that drive so the drive would have fallen off even if the unit was still working. Very dissappointed.

This product is totally made for party, We have so much fun in the party after I bought this system.

I purchased this product for my daughter's 9nth B-Day and she LOVES IT!!! I actually enjoy it also at times, sometimes I find myself using it without my daughter...the only thing I do not like is the microphone volume. It gets loud as you turn the tv up, but trying to adjust it to be loud enough AND still hear the music, sometimes in frustrating....the good thing is, if you don't have mean neighbors, you can turn it up as loud as you want and you shouldn't have any issues then:)

The product is a good deal for a basic dvd player and karaoke machine. The microphones sound very tinny and if you have any kind of voice, you will find this very annoying. Overall for a child/teen its cool. Don't plan on entertaining adults too much with this product. So far, its played every dvd I have put in it...even copied ones.

I bought this Item for the Karaoke function, I comes with 2 mics, great!!! I looks great, you just have to know how to install it with Sourround sound, And must have a (Computer power cord) addtional purchase. Other than that it is a good product for the purchase.

I am very disappointed with this product and with Overstock.com. I bought this for my nieces for Christmas. The "BIG" gift. It had no power to it. The power source was not there. I checked everything on it. The cords with other cords, hoping that was the problem. It was not. The whole system had no power to it. I sent it back and do not suggest this unit.

I was a little nervous about my purchase after reading the other reviews on this product. The video and audio quality is good on this machine. Setup was quick and easy. The onscreen menus are easy to navigate. We have used it for dvds and cdg's (karaoke). The trick with the microphone volume control is that you have to adjust in three different areas, on the machine itself (microphone volume), the tv volume and on the player's remote. The machine also has speaker output for a left, right & center. The only time I have found the microphones scratchy is went they are not installed all the way in the jacks. For the price it is a great buy.

Bought this, unfortunately did not try to set up until after time to return expired. Unit will not power up. Do not buy.

Item just arrived, it only took 3 days! I bought this as a Christmas gift for my young son, so he could watch movies and also have the added fun of the karaoke. I haven't installed it yet, so I can't say anything about video quality or ease of operation, but for the price I don't think you can go wrong. Also, if you sign up for ebates, you'll get an additional cash back plus extra % off in the "coupon" section from overstock. I ended up with almost an additional 20% off and you just can't do much better than that!
