Boombox? How about alarmclock? Sound? Just ok. Size? Size of an alarmclock. I was a little shocked when I opened it, it's very little. Good for a small child, or if needed for a really small space if your an adult. If I had to do it over, I would spend the $10-$15 extra dollars and get a bigger size and more durable model.

PROS Easy to Use, Compact, Lightweight, nice design Cons: poorly built, un-reliable, VERY LIMITED WARRENTY, CD lasts LESS THAN 6mths, DEFECTIVE CD player I purchased a CX-CD236 on April 11, 2010 and by October 3, 2010 (8 days before the 6 month mark) the CD player on the radio stopped working. My husband and I was only using the CD player on the radio to play our toddlers' lullaby CD during the night while she slept AND THAT WAS IT! I called Tech support to only be told that I had exceeded the 90 day warrenty for this particular radio and that there was nothing they could do for me. CAN YOU SAY MAD AS HECK!!! I would not advise anyone to purchase this radio - the CD player only has a shelf life of about 6 months.

I would give it 5 stars if it had the mix feature. Otherwise, it's great. I love the LED display, which is rare on this kind of appliance! The radio is so-so, but most are, where I live.

I purchased this item to replace my trusty (8 years) CD/radio/cassette player that gave up the ghost recently.Maybe I should have tried to get an updated version of the one I had,because this one just didn't fill that void.AM reception was terrible,the build quality was cheap and I returned it forthwith.

This CD Player is awesome. It is very compact and fits easily anywhere. The volume and sound is really great considering that is so small. I am really impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

My husband wanted an inexpensive radio/cd player for the outdoor deck. He is very pleased with this purchase - the sound was much better than he had anticipated. Now he can enjoy the outdoors while listening to his favorite CD's.

Works well for my husband to keep in his work truck so he can play it on the job site.
