  • Great for a little portable power.

    This is great for tailgate camping (recently, the burn restriction for campfires never seems to be lifted) or anywhere an extension cord won't reach. Connect it to any 12v automotive or AGM battery and you have portable power. Recharging either of those batteries is a matter of choice and depends on purpose. I use a small solar charger on an old car battery. This will run small appliances/tools (e.g.-tv, stereo, drill, etc.) for limited time and/or a couple of CFL bulbs without any problems. Just watch the wattage. If you're looking to run your kitchen refrigerator, 'ya gonna need a bigger inverter and a lot mo' batteries'. LOL This inverter is connected to the battery with positive and negative clamps. It does not plug into your car lighter. If you hook this to your car lighter, you're going to blow the 20 amp fuse in your car. So, buy the smaller inverter with the proper car adapter already attached. The smaller inverter will run just about any portable electronic device (e.g.- radios, computers, cellphones, etc.)
