even with new batteries it is not very bright/dark,symbols are hard to make out.

Bought one for my 7-year old son. First one arrived with a defective screen. However, Overstock was terrific in immediately sending out another one, which is working great. My son loves this! When we put in batteries, it did not turn on, but I remembered another reviewer's comment to push the reset with a sharp paper clip- we did this and it immediatly turned on. The other tricky thing is that you must set the World Time and Local Time functions before you try to use the calendar. (the instruction book does not make this clear, but if you try to use set the calendar first, it will revert back to 1995). After setting the time functions first, the calendar is working great.

Very difficult to program. Time and date settings revert back to 1995. Very difficult to use. I wouldn't recommend it. I think a newer version would probably be a better choice.
Really like all the features of this product and the size. After a lot of comparative shopping this was the best product. Very disappointed when it arrived it had rusted batteries included and even after purchasing new batteries and installing them the product still does not work. Very Disappointing!

Our 9-year-old grandson wanted an organizer, and I did a lot of shopping. This was the best value, and had plenty of features that he can grow into. He was able to set up and start using the organizer with a minimum of adult help. He is thrilled with it.
