Canon
Instantly recognizable as a powerhouse in photography, Canon derives its name from the company's first 35 mm focal plane-shutter camera, "The Kwannon," named for the bodhisattva of compassion, "Kwan'on." Since it started in 1937, Canon has developed into a premium electronics company, branching out to make high-quality Canon printers, photocopiers and Canon scanners, but the company remains best known for its cameras, setting a standard for photographic excellence for the better part of the past century.
Among photographers of all stripes, Canon digital cameras remain preferred equipment. Digital SLR models, like the Canon EOS series, remain viable options for professionals and hobbyists alike. Superior flash performance, high-resolution and a high buffer for storing rapid-fire shots all make Canon DSLR cameras ideal for any skill level. Automatic settings make for better photos overall, and those who know their settings will love the ability to save custom-setting schemes. Point-and-shoot cameras, like the Canon Powershot series, also benefit from superior Canon engineering. The quality and ease-of-use that characterize this family of digital cameras opens up possibilities for better photos for every photographer. Having successfully created electronics that create and manipulate images so effortlessly, Canon has set the bar for other camera makers.
Having developed the world's first zoom-lens camcorder, Canon camcorders continue to be first among home video and professional video cameras, too. A whole line of HD camcorders and digital camcorders capture incredible high-resolution video and still images, and the effective image-stabilization and white-balance adjustments bring better picture focus and color reproduction to everything you shoot. Canon continues to focus on quality and performance, outpacing other electronics manufacturers to produce the most stunning high-resolution images in both print and digital form.

    • Loving this camera!

I recently owned a small HP digital and grew bored with it. I wanted a more professional look to my photos. I love the sharp images that I get with the PowerShot. I love my zoom option the most because I can be so far away from my subject and achieve the ultimate perfect picture. Outdoor pics are the greatest. I am LOVING this camera.

I like this camera because it has a great zoom feature. It feels like a camera in your hands. The control buttons are not too tight - easier to use than my small pocket camera. I really appreciate that the flash does NOT automatically pop up when using the camera indoors. That can be annoying when you are in a museum or anywhere flash is not allowed. Still learning all of the extra little features but so far I'm very happy with my new Canon.

    • Its a good camera but not so good HD videos

This camera is good for taking photos. Its a nice mix between a point and shoot (to bulky to be any kind of point and shoot) and slr (can't remove the lenses but it has the feel of a slr). The macro mode I think is the best thing on here. It never failed me when I needed to focus on fine detail. If your taking pictures to post on ebay or to do family slide shows the pictures come out nice big. Easy to edit and great to us on those special events. Myself I wanted this to be used for my youtube videos and I'm sorry to say that the video quality is lacking. The HD and the normal video mode need to be better. I have went threw 3 memory cards. I used a class 10 memory card the first time and it was good then I tried another class 4 the hd was grainy then I got another class 10 because my other class 10 froze on me. The HD quality on that in low light at least was grainy yet again. This camera at the time was pricey for me so now I'm stuck with it. Soon after I got it there was a new and improved updated version and now I think that model has now been upgraded upon. I say buy a point and shoot with the same features and save your money or buy the cannon t3i rebel if you have the money.

      • How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Its look exactly the same
      • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? The auto focus for the video capture was horriable. Sometimes I had to shut the camera off and restart it to get some kind of decent focus for my videos.
      • Please tell us about the quality of the product. The camera takes nice photos. It tended to have a red tint in the photos but I think that could be adjust manually. The auto focus for the videos both normal video and high def. was terriable.

    • My wife, loves it.

This was a gift for my wife. She loves to photograph, the wildlife around the coast of North Carolina. She is very happy with the quality of the camera and proud to show it off. Her instructor, of a photography class, that she took, told her that she had an excellent camera, for what she whats to use it for.

      • How did the image on site compare with the actual product? Very close to actual camera.
      • Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yes
      • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Excellent

    • Looking to get my second one!

This is the most fantastic camera I have ever owned, either 35mm film SLR or digital! I purchased my first one at a local department store in September, and have been looking for another one since (I do photography semi-professionally, and always like to have two cameras available at any given time). I went back to get another of these and they were sold out (currently like this site), and have been unable to find it again until now....just waiting for it to come back in stock. With this camera, I have been able to capture birds with much greater detail and clarity at farther ranges due to the fantastic zoom lens (35mm equivalent of 28-560). My photos of the "Harvest Moon" at the end of September were so clear and crisp that you can actually see the mountains and crater edges on them. Sunsets are awesome and I used it to shoot some photos of the Atlantic Ocean near Cocoa Beach when Hurricane Earl moved by, and in reviewing my photos after coming home, found a picture of a dolphin riding the huge waves that I had NOT seen when actually shooting the photos...I was shooting with 560mm (80x) maximum range at the time, and was totally surprised to see the dolphin (but the camera apparently wasn't)! The flash photography is very nice also. With 20x optical zoom and Image Stabilizer, you almost CAN'T take a bad photo with this camera! I love this camera, and you will, too!

    • canon camera power shot sx 20 IS

I really like my new camera, the stabilizer that is in it is awesome. My last camera was not as good. I also love that it has the screen and the eye view piece. I also love the 20x wide zoom it takes great close up pictures from far away. I also love that I only had to pay 2.95 for shipping.
