I bought this little camera to slip in my purse or pocket and take anywhere. It definitely does the trick. I've had bigger, better cameras so this little one is lacking in some picture quality, but overall it was a good buy. I love this red color.

After looking at consumer reports and ease of use, I decided on this camera. It was also in my budget. I would have gone for the 500HS, but I just couldn't afford it. The pictures look nice, but I wish I could do more manual settings. I can only adjust ISO really.

I owned this camera approximately 2 years and used it only a handful of times. Never dropped it. Never banged it against anything. It was kept in its case when I didn't use it. One day I'm reviewing images on the camera and go to turn it off. The lens doesn't retract and instead gives me this error: Lens error, restart camera. I haven't been able to use it since. Did some research and found A LOT (emphasis on a LOT) of other consumers who have had this same error. If the warranty is up Canon won't replace or fix it for free, though it's obvious this is a common problem with this camera and other Canon cameras. The quote I received to get the camera fixed was $$$. Why bother a camera for $200 and then spend another $$$ to fix an inherently faulty camera? If gave this camera 2 stars instead of 1 because until it randomly stopped working one day, it took beautiful pictures for a point and shoot.

This is my third Canon and I continue to buy them because I'm very happy with their products. I love the picture quality, features, size and ease of use. I bought it for photographing jewelry for my business website, but its compact size makes it perfect to keep in my purse ready for personal shots.

Although I had an issue with the first unit I received, Overstock was very responsive and is sending me a replacement. This ELPH model is a little different from some of the others as it has a button for recording instant video. The camera is simple and easy to use and takes great photos.
