A step down but still useful...
It's a step down from the S-IS series. I had to replace my 120 after having dropped it one time too many. The 150 was out of my price range so I settled on the A800. The settings don't offer the flexibility as my last camera (no ISO adjustment, not as long-range zoom, etc) and it's a bit easier to accidentally film rather than shoot a still. In any case, this would be a good starter camera for someone who wants to get into higher quality photography. This will work for me until I can justify the purchase of my beloved PowerShot S-IS series...

great purchase
Takes great pics. We had bought a refurb which stopped working -- thankfully had purchased the replacement plan. for just a little more, we bought this NEW for our daughter at college and it really takes GREAT pics -- she is posting them so we can see them and we are really impressed with the clarity and colors of her photos. Thank you Overstock for yet another great snag!

My first
I am only experimenting by using the carefully worded instruction book. However, I am really waiting to fully use the camera and understand its capabilities by taking a course when I get down to Florida next week. I know there are many techniques and capabilities that I need to learn so that I can really get the most out of this compact camera.
