My daughter just opened her present this morning and she absolutely loves this camera. She already took about 90 pictures and video taped our celebrations. It is a very nice camera and we all look forward to hours of wonderful "shots":)

This is a great camera! Just point and push the button. It's that easy. My last camera was also a great camera ; which I had for over 3 years A510 and I would still have if it hadn't got broken at Thanksgiving.. I am loving this camera. The Pictures are wonderful.The zoom great. And you can't beat the price. I take a lot of pictures and this camera is perfect for me. I would recommend this camera. It is very user friendly.

A good comfortable camera for the not too professional picture taker. It even has a viewfinder.

The Cannon 590 IS has the most to offer of any digital camera I know of - for the money. You can simply point and shoot (as the name says) of dig down into the features and get special results for special situations, back lighting, low light definition and separating the foreground figures from background clutter. I bought this camera especially because it has a viewfinder. I shoot many outside scenes in which the LCD on any camera is washed out by ambient light and not visible. Bravo!

I had a terrible experience w/ Cannon and this camera. Loved the camera...had a little trouble operating at first, but figured out it was user error...camera came with a 1 year warrantee, and OF COURSE, 8 months later, the camera stopped working. I was in the middle of taking a picture, and it just turned off. It was not dropped..it just stopped working. So I sent the camera to the factory with proof of warrantee, and 2 weeks later I get an email saying they will not honor the warantee because there is a scratch and a dent which nullifys all warrantees. Now, I took very good care of this camera, and there was absolutly NO visible damage from a laypersons perspective. The camera looked brand new. I called Cannon, and they said even though the dent and the scratch had nothing to do with the problems I was having, they "do not do partial repairs, and since exterior damage is not covered in your warrantee, we can not do the work under warrantee." Cannon has LOST a customer for life. I am back to Nikon from now on. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!!
