Basic little printer I tend to go with Canon because their customer service and after-sales support is so good. This little Pixma was purchased primarily for my daughter who prints homework assignments and scans her original art. It does the job, and we haven't had any real problems, but it prints very slowly. My main disappointment, though, is that it doesn't use the standard Pixma ink cartridges, and finding the ones it does take is a huge pain. Also, changing the cartridges is very awkward. The scan bed doesn't open up, as one would expect. You have to go under the paper tray, and reach your fingers deep into the unit to get them in and out. Very bad design.
