These little speakers are amazing. I ordered them for my desk at work. After trying them out I ordered a second speaker set for my home. I can't believe how loud it will get without any distortion. It folds up so small too. It's just about as portable as my ipod. Small design - big sound.
These speakers are the best little speaker system I ever saw perfect to just throw in my work bag and listen whenever I want. It uses very little power, my MP3 player needs the batteries replaced sooner than the speakers. Really a great value. I have recommended them to many people.
There is no shortage of external speaker systems available for your iPOD. This model, at least price-wise, must be near the bottom of the heap. At under $20, it costs less than 1/15 of some top-end models. Identifying your speaker system needs is critical to your decision process. This little unit is not "party ready" - it won't fill your dorm room or apartment with sound. The four "AAA" battery power just isn't up to the task, and the little speakers begin to distort at anything above half-up on the volume (which can be controlled by the iPOD, the dial on the system, or both). However, for a travel unit, which is why I bought one, it is just fine. The system folds up nicely and stores in an area about half the size of a can of Coke. The shipping blister pack, although protective, tells you nothing about operating the unit. Being rather stupid, it took me quite a while to figure out how to hook-up an iPOD to the unit (the cable - all 6" of it - winds up underneath the main body). Inserting the batteries (not included) is easy, but if your iPOD has one of those outer skins, it will only fit into the slide tray at an angle. I listed an "Overall Rating" of 4 Stars owing to price. My guess is - this item probably will not have a real long service life - no matter how well you treat it. I think those little sliver speaker grills will take heat, cold, direct sunlight and moisture without much forgiveness. "Features" amount to a volume setting and a little red light that tells you the system is "on". Would I buy this unit - now that I own one? I guess I would. I don't have big plans for it, although I'm listening to it right this minute as I type out my review. The sound is ok, it is compact and inexpensive and it liberates your ears from headphones.
This is a great product for mp3 players. I purchased this to use with my ipod. Due to the fact that my ipod's audio port is on the bottom, I have to have my ipod upside down when using. Other than that the product is great. You can plug it into a computer so you do not have to use batteries, and the audio qualitiy is great. Not recommended for Ipod Nano (the latest version).
The speakers work very well and no setup is necessary. The speakers are great for traveling. The only thing I did not like is that a DC adapter is not included with the product. So you have to use batteries, until I can find the appropriate wall adapter.
Very effective little speaker. Sound is surprisingly good for how small they are. I have larger portable i-pod speakers that don't sound as good. Plus they fold up so small. Only negative is they don't come with a dc power chord - only usb and AAA battery option. The dc chord is optional.
My portable stereo system is awesome. I take it with me everywhere to hear my music. It is so so so easy to use. Just plug in and go!!
I was not hesitant at all when I saw this product for such a reasonable low price. I read the reviews, and that was good enough for me. It is pretty small, but don't be fooled by it's appearance, because the sound it produces is quite impressive and crisp. The only thing I was a little bummed about is that it just takes batteries, I would prefer a plug for it, but again for that price, it is Well Worth It!
The speakers were good for about 3 weeks and then there was distortion on certain songs. When it was working, it was good, but it didn't last very long.
The speakers and sound in and of themselves are fine, pretty good for their size, and my wife and I like them just fine. However, it is so cheaply made that I had to jerry rig a way to maintain pressure to the battery compartment so that the batteries would seat well and the device would work. The conductors that the battery contacts are badly seated and poorly designed. This was frustrating enough to not recommend this to anyone.
I bought 2 of these over Christmas time for "back up" gifts. I ended up not needing them so I have since broken into both of them...one for me and one for my daughter. They are great! So portable and sooooo worth the price. I am going to buy a couple more just to have on hand for gifts. Even my teenage son thought these were great and said he would totally give one of them to a friend for a gift to use with their ipod. I would recommend this to anyone who has an ipod that wants to have something simple and portable to play their songs.
There is no way this retails for $60. I was hoping for better and am looking for it still. I donated this after receiving it. It did nothing for me. i guess it's true that you get what you pay for in this case.
I brought this speaker b/c I want to plug my ipod to the speaker and then plug it to the wall in my kitchen so that I can listen to music in my kitchen. This ipod speaker unfortunately DO NOT comes with DC adaptor. In other words in order for it to work in my kitchen I will have to put batteries in. I am sick of buying tons of batteries for my kids toys and now I have to deal with this. The sound quality of the speaker is okay. but the design just won't work for a NANO because the line that plug into the Nano is on the bottom and the speaker won't be able to stand up. Anyway, I had tried to return it but found out that I would have to pay repacking fee and return postage. If I pay for all those, I will only be able to get about $5 back. I might as well keep it. It is a really disappointing purchase.
I'm sorry I wasted my money on this, and I don't want to waste my money to ship it back to overstock then lose more money. I thought this would be really cool since it's so tiny and portable, but it only looks good, Yes it looks very nice and when you fold up the speakes it can fit in the palm of your hand BUT the sound quality is very low. You can hardly hear it. My LG CU500 phone has a louder sound quality while playing mp3's than these speakers, and the speaker in my cell phone is alot smaller! I was very disappointed, Of course I was not expecting this to be a huge bass and very loud but I was expecting to be able to hear it clearly at a reasonable level. I'd say the real price value for this would be about 5 or even 4 dollars. But not over that. Not only are the speakers barely hearable, I was also disappointed with the set up for my ipod. This says it plays ipods, BUT I haved an ipod nano and it was definetly not made to fit comfortably with the ipod nano the ipod nano has the speaker/headphone input on the bottom, and when you try to rest the ipod nano on this deck for these mini speakers, it does not stay put because it's a flat surface. So they should have said that it does not fit well with ipod nano's Overall I would not reccomend this to anyone unless it was like 3 dollars or 2 dollars, but even still your better of with a pair of headphones since you have to hold this up to your ears to hear it well.
These little speakers can put out a lot of sound! They are sturdy, weigh almost nothing, are well constructed, and a good value. Great stocking stuffer! I'll be taking mine to the beach.
The speaker system does work and for the price it's worth the purchase. Its great having the speaker system because it can be taken anywhere and does not need to be plugged into an outlet. One main down side to the speaker system is the volume cannot be extremely loud or the music starts to gets unclear and choppy. Overall, the speaker system is worth the money and is a great buy when you want to listen to your Ipod without headphones.
These speakers are pretty good as far as for traveling or you just want to listen to some music. I really enjoy this product and it is nice and portable. I would recommend this product for the traveler.
This product truly has great sound whether connected to my iPOD or even better my laptop. It's works great when you don't want to use the ear buds and has great sound around within your work area. Realistically, you wouldn't be using these to pass music waves at a concert or even at a high school dance. They're convenient and easy to assemble and carry, which is why I bought it along with it's sound. It's a good bargain for the money.
If you buy this for the Nano, be aware that you'll have to put it in upside-down as the plug will cause it to tip if you put it in right side up. Also, the power cord plugs into a USB port, so if you want to put this someplace not near a computer, be aware that you'll have to buy a separate AC adapter. Overall, not bad considering the price - it just has some limitations.
Really like this item and bought as a gift for my sister-in-law. Everyone she knew asked where they could get one. Not much features(battery opertive and adapter to plug into wall, folds up and comes with travel pouch). Sounds good enough and allows you to listen to your ipod without an expensive player/docking station. Does not charge, so you need to charge before each use. Took with me to travel along with my charger adapter. Listened to ipod in hotel room. Great little accessory for the price.
