I'm no pro at wireless networks, but this adapter just didn't work out for me. Next time I think I'll buy a product with a bigger name and pay 5 bucks extra. I wasn't very pleased.
I bought this wireless network adapter, popped it easily into my machine but forgot my CD drive was not working...so hooked up my old E wire to the internet to download an online-version of the software that had been included on a CD with the wireless network adapter. The only one I could find works a little weird---the software says the adapter is NOT even in the computer, but if I right-click on the little symbol that appeared in my task bar at the bottom of my monitor, I can choose "use zero configuration' and the wireless net adapter works just fine. I just have to remember to do this every time I re-boot and had to train my children so that is kind of a pain. I imagine it would have worked OK if I had used the CD that came with the adapter. So it is my fault for not having a CD drive working. But I wish the drivers had been found easily on the company website, so that is why I gave the installation a low rating. Packaging was find and I got it quickly.
There isn't much to say. I plugged it into my motherboard, powered up my computer, and it worked. I have the Vista OS and Vista used an existing driver that works just fine. I am considering buying another one for another computer I own.
