For use to record TV programs, that I plan to watch only once; then record over with a new program; these disks are excellent, trouble free and reusable many times over. I previously used +RW disks and had alot of problems, to include inability to show the program. These disks have given me no problems, when used on several different makes of recorders and played back on a different recorder than recorded on.
Don't waste your money on these, I used these for putting movies on them from my computer to then play on my DVD player, the first time I used them they worked fine, no issue's, but after I erased them & put another movie on them they would work for about the first 25-35min's of the movie but then they would start to skip & get jumpy while making screeching noises, and it wasn't just one disc that did this, they all do it. So don't waste your money on these, I wish I hadn't.

Was having trouble with the Maxell DVD +RW - started with 1 or 2 per back and then finally the entire pack wouldn't record on my DVD recorder. So, after a long time of sufficient quality, I switched brands to Verbatim and these seem to do the trick. Still not exactly sure what the problem was. The owners manual recommends both brands.
