well worth the $
First day out thisdetector saved me on the interstate with plenty of warning. Factory setting gets more quite as you get closer to the source. I like it screaming at me as I get closer. Easy change of setting fixes the problem. Do get some falsing but remember this is a radar detector not a police finder. Works fantastic at an exceptional value. Highly recommend.

A LIFESAVER
I already have a beltronics in one of the family cars and bought it directly from the company two years ago for TWICE the price here- and this is a much newer model. It alerted me to a hidden cop (a nasty speed trap at the bottom of a long hill and saved me $250 in a ticket I did NOT get the very first day. I tell everyone that a one-time investment in a beltronics saves you many times that much many times a year - especially near the end of the months when cops need to fill a quota and seem to be lurking everywhere! Anyone who drives outside their town limits really needs one of these - and the price is exceptional, a true Overstock gem.

Good deal for price
We purchased this after having two other detectors. I like that not only do you get a warning signal but also a voice warning. Also like the windshield mount . Very pleased so far.

Beltronics Vector 955 Radar
This Radar is the TOP OF THE LINE for the price. You WILL not get a better Radar Detector for less than $**** It is very sensitive but mainly on the important things. It has only picked up a few false alarms in a couple of spots in the big city. But the deal with Radar detectors is State Troopers don't always have their radar gun on, if this is the case, then there is nothing that will be picked up by any radar dectector. Even though it is excellent IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU the license to SPEED. You have to realize that. Because the State Troopers will catch up with you. One night I had it on, and it was late. I saw a car coming and it looked normal, I was doing the speed limit (thank God) and all the sudden my radar went nuts. That is because he had it off and then turned it on to check my speed. So basically the item is a steal for the benefit's, but doesn't give you freedom to do whatever you want. Please be aware of your state's car Laws. In Texas it isn't illegal to have one of these except in a Commercial vehicle. But some states it is. So watch out!

This dectector is ok, get a lot of false alarms, and do not like the windshield mount.

I researched Radar Detectors and decided this one was the best for the $$. I looked everywhere for prices and Overstock beat everyone's prices by about $10. It has been good so far, still getting used to it.

Great detector for road trips
Received the detector on Tuesday and used it Thursday on a trip from Albuquerque to Phoenix. Saved me three times once I got into Phoenix and avoided three separate speed traps. Great investment.
