I needed an inexpensive wireless card for an old laptop (2004 Gateway) that I recently refurbished. I was delighted to find this product on Overstock.com. It was a real deal for the $. I bought it online for about ten bucks. Similar and inferior products are still being sold in chain stores for at least three times as much (as of FEB 2011). The product arrived quickly and in good condition. I will definitely shop Overstock.com again. Installation and setup went smoothly. No complaints. FYI I'm using it on the Windows XP platform and a Wireless-G network. It is supposed to run on a Wireless-N network, too. Product reviews on cnet indicate that it runs slower on N networks than later products (newer products) designed to support 802.11n. I've only used it for 802.11g, so I can't attest to it's performance with N.

I purchased the card for an older laptop connecting to a wireless "n" network modem. This card was the most inexpensive I found and it performed just like more expensive cards. I recommend it for anyone trying to connect to upgraded wireless networks from older laptops.

I planned to add WPA2 encryption with this card on an older laptop but it failed to connect to a Linksys router so I gave up. It did not even recognize either of the two network router broadcasts with the proprietary software.

VERY GOOD PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY. DOESN'T SEEM TO RECEIVE SIGNAL AS WELL I WOULD LIKE.

Received this item 1/19/11 in factory-new packaging & well packed for shipping. Discovered that I had ordered the wrong adapter & needed an EXPRESS card to fit the open slot on my laptop instead of this older PCMCIA card for a Card Bus. But at this price I won't return the item but instead will sell it online to someone needing this type card or perhaps donate it to a non-profit to resell or find a use. Delivery was delayed only because of a long weekend & MLK holiday. Delivery from OVERSTOCK.COM has always been speedy~! I'm sure this item works well as it is brand-new with the CD driver/installation included. Only had one minor problem with OVERSTOCK.COM in the past & their Customer Service remedied the issue immediately & credited my account.
