First, I was surprised that the base unit needed to be plugged into an electrical outlet rather than operating from a USB port. That was inconvenient, but not a fatal flaw.
But, second, when I took the removable/travel hub with me, I found it worked only some of the time on three out of four ports. Definitely a problem.

I know the value was great, as the prices I cheked, ranged aprx. $15-$20 more.
Because it's a 2 part unit (read desc), you really get your money's worth & with a good brand name,
too.A bit larger than expected, but people, stock up on this one, makes a great gift!!!
