Didn`t need to hook up power.Works great for me.I generally check Overstock first because of their low shipping costs

First, I was surprised that the base unit needed to be plugged into an electrical outlet rather than operating from a USB port. That was inconvenient, but not a fatal flaw. But, second, when I took the removable/travel hub with me, I found it worked only some of the time on three out of four ports. Definitely a problem.

This product works perfectly with my laptop which only came with two USB ports!! It was very easy to install. Now I can connect my wireless mouse, my external hard drive, my ipod nano, my iPhone, etc

Purchased as gift, looks & works fine, and having the travel option is a big plus. I know the value was great, as the prices I cheked, ranged aprx. $15-$20 more. Because it's a 2 part unit (read desc), you really get your money's worth & with a good brand name, too.A bit larger than expected, but people, stock up on this one, makes a great gift!!!
