The fuse is the same kind as is used in the car's fuse - makes it easily replaceable. 5. a small, very quiet, fan keeps it from overheating. Some not-so-nice features: 1. A very faint electrical odor when the fan is on. 2. Doesn't seem to charge as fast a my old inverter, but doesn't overheat either. Overall I am very happy with the device - like it a lot!
