I purchased the pl28 center to compliment a pair of pl89s I have. The center helps create a unified sound front, and makes dialogue in movies sound wonderfully rich and detailed. overall, the Bic acoustechs that I have sound amazing while watching blurays or listening to music. They can also get very loud with no loss of detail or sound quality.Their sensitivity allows you to reach high volumes without a lot of power. My Denon avr590 only has up to 75 watts ACD, but it is plenty to push these speakers to above a desirable volume.I have never had a clearer set of speakers before, and at their price point I think they are an amazing deal.

I bought this center to work with my Cerwin Vega 250Se towers due to their high sensitivity and horn-loaded tweeters. However, the PL-28 did not work well with them - it eclipsed them! The Vegas are a 3 way speaker, but the BIC (two way) has better imaging, richer midrange, and better imaging. It also has an extremely low profile, and comes with wall-mount eyelets, so you have more than one mounting option. the midrange is excellent, bass range is more than acceptable for a sealed speaker, and the highs are clean, crisp, and well-defined. At no point does this speaker become muddy or distorted. The sound is extremely close to the Klipsch Reference series in terms of being pronounced, clear, and very, very well placed. In my opinion, this center provides better off-axis response than the Klipsch unit, though the trade-off is the sweet spot - Klipsch sweet spot can put you in a diabetic coma - it is perfect. If you NEVER move your head while watching movies, get the Klipsch. If you are, much like me, alive, and like to breathe once in a while, save the $400, and buy this BIC. You will not regret it. In fact, I liked it so much that I ordered a set of matching front towers, PL-89s. Can't wait... :)

well for starters, the stock photo doesnt do any justice for the beauty of this speaker.the quality is best to see for yourself.its bigger and heavier than i imagined,the sound that comes outta this thing makes my main Yamaha NS 6490 Left / right CH speakers sound bad lol make sure you have decent speakers when buying this fyi because if you have really bad quality (under 200 for a pair of speakers is bad) if you do then this thing will only drown out your other speakers! my mains are not even that bad but in comparison they are. i replaced my Sony SS CN5000 Center CH speaker with this BIC Acoustech PL-28 Center Speaker and omg what a difference i heard! and overstock is the only online store that has it under 200$ (from what i'v personally seen) oh and by the way the back of the speaker discreetly has two wall mounts already on it! you can hang it under your flatscreen, but dont try to find that feature in the product description because it doesnt mention it ;) overall amazing product

Owning Klipsch speakers, I am fortunate to be able to compare them to the PL-28; Amazing dynamics,tight Bass response,the PL-28 gives up nothing to the Klipsch.In fact, the PL-28 might be a tad more effeciant IMHO that is. And the price difference is significant, these Acoustech Speakers are for sure one of Audio's biggest surprises.Both in sound quality, Build quality, and dollar for dollar value.These are a Steal at this price, when compared to other quality center channel speakers.From the heavy duty gold speaker connection, the drivers, the cabinet, the detail, and quality is second to none.Highly Rated Excellent Value. I have 1 hooked up to a PS Audio GCA-500, another to a GCA-250power handling is not an issue, crisp,clean, detailed music is the result.

I own the floor standing PL-89 speakers which use the same horn and woofer units. The sonic quality is more or less the same, except that PL-89 has a larger ported cabinet. As a result, this PL-28 is a not as efficient and the low is a little weaker as well. I like both PL-89 and PL-28 especially when you also the prices.
