Sturdy, great price, basic and very servicable First off - the good: Battery life is beyond what I expected - lasts more than all day. Boots up SUPER fast, almost faster than my phone! That is a BIG plus. This is not a super thin device... which for me is great. I'm not afraid of breaking it in my backpack, it has a very sturdy feeling backing on both keyboard and screen. I also like that the keys - although chicklet style - have some give to them, and are ALMOST real keyboard size (I'm a touch typist so that means a lot to me). However in landscape mode the on-screen keyboard is pretty good too. The touchpad is very sensitive so an external mouse for me was a requirement. I still tend to have the cursor move around at random when my palm barely touches the pad. Which leads me to a 'con' for this model... the USB port is built into the BASE of the unit, so there's no external mouse-keyboard, unless it's already hooked up to it's own keyboard, making it redundant. I like using it vertically (webpages, overly long e-mails and product reviews like this one) so having the USB dongle for Keyboard and mouse next to a charger on just the screen would really be ideal. Screen is clear, but I hate reflective screens - fingerpainting them is only fun to taunt neat-freaks. However, it does have ScreenCast which as I found out, can project a second screen (completed with ported sound) to a Smart TV, in full splended resolution! I was VERY impressed with this, and it makes the device TWICE as useful to me as a media consumption toy. It also came with 1 TB of Asus WebStorage (hope that lasts) which is actually more than all my previous combined old school hard drives. There are slimmer, sexier tablets, out there, but for the price (half that of IBM's Surface) it's a total win for me. Also it comes with Windows 8.1 which any computer enthusiast will easily be able to blow away with Mint, Ubuntu or Redhat. (although I'm a bit of a pervert, I'm starting to like WIndows 8.1, but don't tell anyone I admit to that)
