This netbook is my new travel machine, as I bought it to take the extra weight and bulk of my Macbook out of my carry on. As a Mac user, I opted for a netbook that doesn't have a hard drive in it because I do not need to be saving documents, etc. on multiple machines and I can easily plug in my external to one of the three USB ports. It does come with a 16GB solid state drive, which I find to be plenty ample for travel usage and for downloading programs like iTunes, Divx player, etc. The built-in camera makes it great for apps like Skype, and the built-in wireless makes it easy to connect to the web anywhere. Some might wonder "why this netbook over the bigger netbooks with big hard drives, etc?" I got this one for those very reasons: It is very small and compact, and the lack of hard drive makes it very durable. It has a built-in SD card reader, which is convenient for storing data on SD cards and for also uploading pictures to the web, Facebook, etc. The machine I find moves slower than what I'm used to with my Macbook, but that I expected. Set up of XP was very fast and took no time at all. I would also imagine you could upgrade to Windows 7 if you wanted to. If you are looking for a device that is ideal for watching a movie on a plane, checking email on the go, calling your friends and family from Skype while on vacation, and then tossing it in your bag without worrying about damage, then this netbook is for you.
I bought two of these for my niece and nephew, respecitvely. Haven't had a chance to give it to them yet, but I am sure they will be thrilled! I have a very similar one myself, bought at a much higher price during the past summer. My husband, who is a "computer guy," says that this one should be much better, faster, and sturdier.Overstock offers the best price! Thanks!
The netbook is amall and compact. It was refurbished but I only knew that because of the ad.It functions like new and looks like new. It will be my choice of PC when I travel. The beauty of this product is you can take it anywhere. It is as good as it was advertised. I would recommend it to everyone.
I love my new netbook it is awesome. Very small could easily fit in a purse. I am fortunate that I do not have large fingers as it would be difficult typing on it as the keyboard is so small.
