This is the first articulating mount I bought. The reviews were pretty good on this site, but I found that the mount doesn't lock into position. It's hard to level the tv and maintain its level. I've returned this mount and purchased a simple tilt mount.
The product arrived in a timely manner and is quite sturdy and seems to be well built. Included were ample bolts for attaching the device to most any kind of wall. The device is up and seems to be quite sturdy and holds the TV (73 lbs.) well with no sagging unwanted movement.
I'm not too sure how to put in words how thrilled I am with my TV mount. I bought the mount before I bought the TV. then I painted the niche an eggshell black, built the frame to house the mounting bracket with 2 x 12's, painted them too. then came the tv, and it's a 58" plasma, 78#. it comes out about 2' from the wall as it floats over a gas fireplace. the mount is solid. glad i did my research. it does require 2 people to mount on the wall. wish i could show a picture.
this is a very good product for an excellent value. installed it in an hour and a half. the hardest part of the installation was taking the tv out of its stand. glad i didn't go to a nearby store to buy a tv mount for twice the price. i would definitely recommend this.
I paid $$$$ plus $$ shipping thru Overstock. I use it with my 52" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV (KDL-52W5150) which is 60 lbs. I'm very pleased with my purchase, especially for the price. A mount this nice would easily be $$$$ or $$$$ at a local Best Buy. It’s made from cast metal parts and has chrome tubing, as opposed to being made entirely out of sheet metal. It was only another $$$ or so (over the sheet metal versions), and totally worth it. It has a smooth action when you move the TV around for different viewing angles. When not in use I have the TV against the wall, in the middle of the long wall, in my long and some-what-narrow living room. When I want to watch TV I can pull it out at almost a 45 degree angle from the wall. It’s amazing. The built in cable management works decent enough. I still used some zip-ties to be extra-sure nothing would get pinched when I’m moving it around. It comes with an amazing amount of extra hardware you won’t use (to cover all mounting types, and TV brands). The hardest part of mounting this is finding the wall studs. It’s VERY important that you’re sure you’ve drilled into the wall studs.
