Until we get a newer car with an iPod hookup, we will continue to use this transmitter to save us from being at the mercy of broadcasters. The shortcoming is that in NYC the radio market is saturated, so we have to change frequencies every couple of miles. In a rural area, it's more like every 30 miles. The sound quality through this is okay -- comparable to a fairly distant FM station, I suppose. Having said all that, this has been a great investment. We use it with an iPod Classic that will charge from dead to full in about 45 minutes while using this setup (while running). Once charged, it will play through the transmitter for at least 4 hours before needing another charge. Only gripe (other than the need to detach the unit to spare the battery) is that the transmitter does not seat with a click and can be knocked loose easily.
