worse then thought
 Aug 21, 2007

This product does not perform well at all. The sound quality is worse then poor. The FM tuner does not work at all. It was unable to tune in clearly to any station. The volume control is temperamental depending on which setting you have it on the constant background hiss is not bad if you set the volume to 23 but is very bad at 22. I understood that this item would be cheaply made, but I expected it to at least be able to do what was advertised decently. The only upside is that it makes a decent flash drive.

Great price, great quality
 from Virginia,  Sep 27, 2007

It is a good product for the money that I spent on it. As others said in the product review, it is a little hard to operate at first. The trick is the black mode button on the side. Press in and hold a second and the menu will come on the screen. Then you push the mode button to the side to advance to the next feature and press and hold to choose a feature. The mode button is the key!!! Now it is so easy to operate. I did not have any trouble loading music from my computer. I love it.

Not user friendly
 from Florida,  Jun 8, 2008

If you've never had a mp3 player before, this is not the one to try. The instructions are written very poorly. I never had a mp3 player before and this was very hard to figure out. The sound quality is also very poor.

This MP3 player is so difficult to operate that we have purchased another and are unable to use the one purchased from Ovestock.com. The instructioin book is so poorly written it is impossible to use. This product will cause me to be very cautious in the future when purchasing anything from Overstock .com.

Still Trying to figure it out...
from NYC, NY,  Jan 16, 2008

We were excited about the price and all of the features the player came with so we bought it as a gift for my father. He received it but couldn't figure it out. He is just now waking up to technology, so at first we thought it was just him. My brother called to say he couldn't figure it out either so we headed over ourselves. We still can't figure it out. It didn't come with any instructions and even the simple features like the voice recorder are perplexing. I'm hoping once we figure it out, it will be a great player, but as of now we are still clueless.

Had to format drive to load mp3 files on it. Mode button sticks. Instruction booklet isn't that great.

MP3

My 11 year old son is delighted to have this MP3 player. It is not very easy to work, though and the instructions are not very clear. It also runs through batteries pretty fast.

If Only
 from California,  Sep 19, 2007

Well, I like this product. I had one small problem with it reseting itself, but that ended up being because of the type of battery used. The product itself is great I learned almost everything about it within 10 minutes without reading the manual. The only thing I wish for is a higher volume setting. Bulky head phones are not an option when running and the earbuds are not loud enough to drown out the sound of nearby construction.

My First MP3 Player!
from Princeton, NJ,  Sep 7, 2010

I wanted something small and simple as my first MP3 player and I am very satisfied with this product. I love it that it can record audio and receives FM radio as well, and one fully recharged AAA battery can give over 45 minutes of continuous play.

Gift for my niece
from Phoenix, AZ,  Feb 12, 2010

I wanted to get a MP3 player for my 14-year-old niece that wasn't too expensive and this one fit the bill perfectly. She lives in another state so I don't have any firsthand information on how well it works or how easy it is to use,but her mother reported to me that she absolutely loves it. My only complaint was black was the only color available. I wish I would had a choice.

This MP3 player is not user friendly. There is a screen with information that cannot be read because it is just too small. This small MP3 player has too many functions for it's size.

Complicated
from Milwaukee, Wi.,  Feb 4, 2010

I am enjoying the mp3 player, though I will probably not use all of the features. I am not sure why you would want to have an address book on an mp3 player. I also find the menu switch annoying. rotate left or right to scroll through items, and push in the wheel to select. Too often I end up pushing it in when I am changing menu selection. But it is not all negative. The sound quality is good, and the FM tuner picks up all the local stations. It also lets you preset stations. (Like the buttons on a car radio.) The station scan also works well. It is a nice player - it just has a higher leaning curve then it should before you can use more then basic functions. On the one it replaced, pressing the play button 3 times would go from turned off, to playing music. On this one, you have to hold the play button until you get the power up cartoon, then hit the menu button to select playing music, and then hit the play button again to play a song... If anyone can make the sense of the battery charge function instructions, and make it work, please let me know.
