To start with, this keyboard is quite attractive. The option of using the touchpad or a mouse is great. It has two places to plug it into the computer - one is for the keyboard, and one is for the mouse. There is not the limitation of using just the t built-in touchpad. I am a medical transcriptionist and wanted to find the most ergonomical keyboard, and this keyboard really is. The hot keys are neat , but you have to get used to them just like anything else. Customer service from Adesso is good when you need to know anything.
I work from home, and type approximately 8 hours a day. I developed pain in my hands/wrists and was on a mission to find a way to continue working without loading up on anti-inflammatory drugs. after much research, I purchased this in 2012, and it took about a week to get used to the ergonomic key placement, but once I did - WOW. Wrist/hand pain ceased within a month of using this keyboard. I would give it 5 stars, but it suddenly quit working properly today, the keyboard input was spitting out irrelevant characters, and pressing any number on the number pad or pressing the space bar would shut down my computer. There is only a 1 year warranty, so I will be purchasing a like-item with a 5 year warranty.
