A similar ultra160 card I purchased in 2002 recently failed and I was pleasantly surprised to see the 29160 on overstock.com new for over 80% off retail. To be fair, the product here is just the card and the retail box comes with several cables, but for my situation, it is perfect and I had my system back up and running in a few minutes. It was a steal for a high performance server card at such a low price. The card is 64-bit PCI but is 32-bit compatible as advertised on the Adaptec website. It is doing fine in my 2002 vintage Athlon XP system keeping my 10000 RPM drives purring. I did put electrical tape over the portion of the PCI connector beyond the 32-bit slot.It has both internal and external LVD/SE 68-pin connectors, and internal 68-pin and 50-pin single-ended internal connectors. An external 50-pin connector would have been nice for me personally, but I imagine for SCSI devices it is more common to have external RAID enclosures than CD-ROM drives or other 50-pin devices.
