I bought one of these about 6 months ago, & now end up using it mainly, as opposed to my desktop or larger laptop. Very portable, I haul it to wi-fi hotspots when we go out. It's light & very reliable. Easy to wipe/reinstall OS if need be, and according to Ubuntu's site, this netbook supports Ubuntu (Linux) "Netbook Remix" version out-of-the-box, so can install Linux OS as well. Enough USB ports to attach a CD/DVD drive, etc. Great PC for the price. We now own 2 of them. I am an IT Professional & have recommended these to my co-workers.
We just received this laptop as a 'starter' for my nine year old and it was really worth it. She loves it and it gives her everything she needs - word, excel, the internet.. We had some initial issues with the start-up (shipping dust got into the laptop somehow) but the customer service support was great and it took very little time to correct. Overall we are very happy with the product!
The unit is just what I needed for weekend travel. The powerpack (3-cell) that comes with the unit doesn't come close to the 3 hour useage time( more like 1 1/2 hours). I ordered the 9-cell battery from another source and it will now operate 11 hours plus. Stevied
