Customer Reviews
I use this computer to download and program power quality analyzers. The 5 hour battery life is superb. The bright screen doesn't wash out in full sunlight. The computer can be comfortably carried in one hand while opened as it fits in an open hand. It's well balanced. The size and weight make keying in file names with one hand while carrying it with the other very easy. The small size makes it fairly stiff and thus doesn't flex like full-sized notebooks, especially ones that are less than 5 pounds. There seems to be enough padding around the screen to take some field punishment. The light weight makes it less likely to accidentally drop. The small size keeps it from being affected by the wind. The hard drive makes large file transfers easy and has a large mtbf rate - better than flash memory if running Microsoft Windows XP and doing a lot of reads and writes to memory. It fits easily in smaller computer luggage. The light weight is noticeable when it is carried in a bag containing cameras, flashlights, cables, adapters, a work notebook and other things. USB ports on both sides are good. It reads camera flash cards directly. Microsoft Windows XP Home is not a problem if you transfer data by USB drive and don't connect it to a corporate network. Hibernates and restores very quickly. The white color keeps it from getting hot from the sun. The glossy surface is easier to clean. It needs only a small place to set it down.
Nice little Acer Notebook, arrived quickly, small, compact , easy to set up. but having a left and right mouse button is weird. Really hard to get used too. Most laptops have one mouse button, if you go too far to one side or another have to switch. other than the mouse it runs just fine

This is a great little machine. It has no CD/DVD drive but otherwise it is full featured. I use it for presentations, downloading photos (it has a built in card reader), recording my research data. It weighs about as much as hardback novel and takes up the same space. With its 160 Gig harddrive, it holds all my programs, files and photos. It is wi-fi and ethernet ready. I have refused to tote a laptop before this one relying on a Palm PDA. This one of the best computer buys I have made in the last 10 years. The price is fantastic.

I have owned this machine for at least two months and I wouldn't give it up! I own a desk top and a larger HP notebook but I teach and this is the one I keep all of my lessons and my smartboard system on. It is so easy to take back and forth to school every day. Every one at work is in awe over the power it has for its size. I bought two more for gifts for Christmas.

I bought an Acer Aspire One (AAO) this fall and within weeks the screen blacked out upon booting. Rather than replacing my AAO , Acer referred me to a technical repair depot. After 6 weeks still no word - then two weeks ago after calling Acer they said they would send me a new one on back order. Still no sight of it. Today when i called they said they have no idea when the back order will be filled. Just wonderful customer support - not! Wish i had bought a MacBook now.
