This lens is everything I wanted - what a difference for my nature pictures - can catch details on the birds from 100 feet away easily - didn't realize how much detail I had been missing for all these years - perfect addition to the Nikon DX40 - it is a little pricey, but going through Overstock.com helped save the coupon not allowed when I originally purchased the camera six months ago.
