My old portable phones were creating static and not reliable any more, so I looked at a number of them on Overstock.com and found these Vtech phones. They have all of the features I wanted (caller Id, voice mail indicator, and directory) as well as being expandable. The phones work well and sound great on my 2 1/2 acre property. I am very happy with this purchase.

We have been using these phones for less than one month. I noticed today that the 2 upper rows of buttons are now fade to a gray color, while the lower 2 rows remain dark black. It's just my husband and myself so I see no reason for this to look old and worn out at less than 30 days of use. The phones work well, but for the price I expected to be better built/designed than they are.

I just spoke with Panasonic technical and found out that when you have a phone call that asks for "prompts" for either an example - 1 or 2 to touch tone - then sometimes it does not work on this phone system. I always had Panasonic phones and loved them. They now inform me that due to the new systems that many of them may now have you to push the "*" symbol to get to have the touch tone to work. Or to push another button to get the tone-pulse to work I've tried to push the "*" and it does not get me into the prompt that I need to use. I'm throwing away my good money since its too late to return this equipment. I found out that the KXTG 365SK still has the old technology that will recognize the prompts without jumping over the hoops of pushing the "*" to get into the prompts. Sad - really sad case of new technology that can't recognize the prompts on the phone!!

The phone setup was easy and everything works as expected. Clear tone and handsets are very lightweight. The only thing that could be better was the volume - I had to turn the volume up quite a bit for the ring to be heard. The main reason I bought the phone was that I wanted to have the convenience of a wireless phone, but if the power went out, the land line base unit would still work without having to charge it.
