When I replaced my old desktop with a netbook a few months ago, I needed an optical drive. I don't use it all that often, but when I do, it works just fine. While it's working it does make a sound louder than I'm used to, but that's not really a big deal. It comes with a CD with some of its own software (an auto backup feature, a security thing) as well as some other companies' such as a burning utility. Like the hardware, the software works fine. So, basically, it does it's job and it's a good price.

THIS PRODUCT IS EASY TO USE AND VERY PORTABLE AND HELPFUL IN MANY WAYS OTHER THAN WHAT IT WAS INTENDED FOR PURCHASE. I HAVE MADE A GREAT PURCHASE AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL FRIENDS.
