Nice unit for the bucks!
from Denver, CO,  Apr 30, 2007

Like others, once I got past the users guide, it was an easy unit to operate. The secret is the mode switch. Hold for 2 seconds always returns to the main menu. selecting a main menu item then press ths mode switch briefly gets you to the item selected. It has more features than advertised. Not only can it act as a voice recorder, you can record directly from the FM radio. It is basicly a Flash drive with an MP3 player and a radio added. When connected to a computer it becomes another removable drive, and can be used as a flash drive even if there is no battery. I've just ordered my third one as a gift. Enjoy Jim G. Wa4fma

Too Cool
 from Oklahoma,  Mar 1, 2008

The neat thing about this is that it can record anything it receives over its tiny FM radio, which is something I have always wanted to do. Even jaded iPod owners are jealous and impressed. The directions could be a bit clearer, but one can easily figure out what's what by fooling around with the controls for a little bit. This operates off of a standard AAA battery, rather than a rechargable unit, and the battery doesn't last real long.

great value
from macon, ga,  Feb 24, 2008

I bought this for my mother (age 60) for Christmas. She takes daily walks and wanted something to listen to. This one with all it's features and capacity for the price was a great deal. It is a little tricky to get the hang of. The mode button can be pushed to the right or left and down into the unit. My mom is technologically challenged and she got the hang of the important (to her) features after a 2 minute tutorial from me. I found the user manual easy to understand and the operation pretty logical. She loves it in red. The back-light is a great feature. It has about 7-8 different colors. You can pick your favorite or set it to change colors every time you do anything. Like if you are scrolling through the main menu it will change colors for every icon. That way even if you can't see the screen very well you know when you have moved to the next icon. i love it. I'm thinking of getting one for myself.

Very good vlaue
from Orlando, FL,  Nov 7, 2007

Small player does a lot of things. Even though it's not your high-priced iPod, but for the price, it offers an incredible amount of functionalities. This is my second one and I'm overall very happy with the product.

A waste of money
Anonymous  from Northern Virginia,  Oct 8, 2007

I was unable to save music to this player without "format error" message. To remedy I had to reformat the drive and then I could not find the necessary files to restore functionality. The "user guide" is incoherent; it is not in readable English. The manufacturer has no customer service numbers or website. This product is a false economy; spend some more money and get a name-brand product. This ruined my son's birthday.

This has good things and bad things
from Queens, NY,  Aug 10, 2007

The good things this has is all the different uses: MP3 player, FM tuner, address book and more. But I bought this mostly for the voice recorder function. It is pretty difficult to figure out how to use the different functions and how actually to use the voice recorder. Once i kind of figured out how to use it, it took me a while to actually figure out how to play it back. I was upset to find out you have to use the included headphones to hear it, there is no external speaker. So if you want to record quick messages to yourself, like where you parked in a parking lot, make sure you have some headphones with you so you can hear it when you come back to find the car.

Great MP3 Player
 from Alabama,  Jul 24, 2008

The 1 GB MP3 Player is pretty easy to use and was very affordable. I have the red one and it looks good too. I'm not very proficient with electronics, but have found it fairly easy to use and the quality of sound is good.

Good product
 from WA,  Feb 29, 2008

So far I am pretty happy with this product. I only thing I don't like is that there is no clip or something to attach it to me so I have my hands free. It has a little ring on it, but its so flimsy and loose-feeling I don't trust it. All in all, though I like it a lot. It holds lots of information, songs and other files. I love the USB hook-up. The headphones were junk though, but that is easily fixed, by getting new ones. Pretty good overall rating.

from Indianapolis, in,  Feb 21, 2008

this is ok for a tween, but I wish I had spent a little more to get a better mp3, this one is extremly basic..kind of difficult to go to the next song, and I still haven't been able to make it repeat or go backwards...

Good Value!
from The Midwest,  Feb 10, 2008

Reading all the different reviews enabled me to make my decision to purchase this product., as I was looking for something that had more than one feature, as this does. It also can be used as a voice recorder, and when I am not listening to my music files, while working out... it is easy enough to switch over to radio, which in my opinion is a plus. I am very happy with it, and have had no trouble with it thus far. The sound is good, and using a quality battery is a must. They last longer. Also, being "new" to mp3 players.. I gave it 3 stars on ease of operation, because I have to agree with some of the other posters... the instructions could have been written better, as they threw me off, but once I played with the controls, it was very easy to figure out, PLUS! reading these great reviews with so much info! It just made it so much easier to figure out once I received the product. And, for me, the main reason that I am very happy with this product, besides the great value is because it is very easy loading your music files into the player, through your Windows Media Player, which was my main concern. 1 gig is worth the cost! Thanks again Overstock!

good value
from Rochester, NY,  Feb 4, 2008

Good mp3 for the price, relatively easy to use. Max volume is a little low, can be a problem in crowded gyms, etc. First battery (alkaline) lasted about 3.5 hours.

1 GB MP Player
from Washington, DC,  Dec 14, 2007

This player is very economical, stylish and compact. I purchased it as a gift and the recipient loves it very much. You have the option of listening to the FM tuner or your very own downloaded songs. I'd recommend this player to anyone.

Never would have thought.....
 from Houston,Tx,  Nov 18, 2007

For the price I paid for it.....I figure the sound quality would be poor. But I was way wrong. It sounds great. Fairly easy to operate, just have to remember how to operate the mode switch. I'm very satisfied with this product.

works great
from Chicago, IL,  Oct 24, 2007

Very easy to use and upload music to it, the only bad thing is that it does eat up the batteries, but other than that its a great value for the money. You can really fit alot of music on it. I love that I can listen to the radio when I don't want to listen to the MP3s.

Download Good, directions bad
from Leola, Pa,  Oct 16, 2007

I was able to start downloading and playing music right away on this player, however, i am still tryng to navigate the rest of the features. The instructions are in broken English which makes it a little more difficult.

Good buy
from Hoquiam, wa,  Oct 10, 2007

This is a pretty good buy and I really enjoy this player. The manual could be clearer but after playing around with it, it gets easier. It has a tendency to drain batteries so I remove them when I'm not using the player for a long time. I consider both those issues to be small ones, especially since this is a mp3 player, a flash drive, radio, and recorder.
