I was excited to see this cable for such a great price immediately after having bought a similar one at a big box store for $30. I hooked it up to my HDTV with ease, but when I went to attach it to my laptop I found that the audio cable was about 1-2 inches too short. The audio cable juts out from base of the VGA end for about 6 inches, rather than running along the entire length of the VGA cable as I've seen in other configurations. Unfortunately my laptop's VGA port is on the back of the laptop in the middle and the audio port is on the right side of the laptop. If the audio ran down the length of the VGA cable I could have "split" them to allow more distance between the ports. The VGA gives me beautiful clear video but we have to use the laptop's speakers to hear the audio. Now I've got to hunt for a good deal on an audio extension cable. It's not bad for the time being, but if I had known the specs between the two feed ends I would have waited to buy until I had the correct config. It is a great deal if your video and audio ports are close together, so I recommend it with that caveat.
- How did the image on site compare with the actual product? The image showed the ends of the cable but didn't really give a good impression of the actual structure of it, specifically the method by which the audio cable is attached.
- Was the product free of any manufacturer defects? Yes. It appears to be well made and in perfect condition.
- Please tell us about the quality of the product. The VGA connection works great. Unfortunately the audio cable is too short so I can't use it.
