The cable was just what I was looking for. The length prevents entanglement with other cords and doesn't take up much space for storage. I had no problem with complicated installation and I have with other purchases and the price couldn't be better.
The installation goes smoothly, and my computer is able to recognize another serial port (6) without issues. But, none of my old programs will use this port (even with remapping) to communicate with the serial devices.
Bottom line, my old serial devices may now be hooked up to my computer but they still don't work because the software does not recognize this port.
