Even for a beginning wire worker this kit does not have much to offer. I have purchased two wire wrapping books and the techniques described can be accomplished without a tool like this. In fact, this type of tool is not mentioned anywhere I have seen in any list of tools needed for wire work. Put your money into a jig or one of the many types of plyers instead.
