  • Too much work

    This cutter is sharp and would be wonderful if you didn't have to use the guide to make each cut. Without it, your cut is crooked the last half of the paper. I've tried holding the paper in place by stretching my hand the length of the paper, but it still makes a crooked cut. I wish I could figure out a way to resolve this problem because I really do like the cutter.

  • Decent Trimmer But Could Be Better

    Pluses: The base is sturdy and heavy enough that the trimmer won't slide; the trimmer feels nice and bulky, but not too heavy to stow away easily. The printed grid and measuring strip are helpful. The handle works for me (but I have very small hands). The trimmer came well packaged and protected. Minuses: The blade cuts well, but only if you press your fingers close by it and hold the paper down between the guard bar and the blade; otherwise the blade will push the paper up and you won't get a straight edge. There is also no blade guard on the underside of the base: when you grab the trimmer from the sides with both hands to move it, it's very easy to hit the blade with your right hand. I almost hurt myself the first time I did it, because all the other trimmers I've used before have had a guard. The latch securing the blade is small and awkwardly positioned. I have not tried cutting more than two sheets of paper/cardstock at a time, so I don't know how it performs with stacks. If I could buy again knowing what I know now, I'd go with another brand I know and like better.

    This is an okay trimmer. Sometimes it will bend the paper instead of cutting it, especially on thinner paper. I would not buy another one or recommend it.
