I really like this product. It sews through many layers. As to the users who didn't get instructions, I don't think anyone did-I looked in my sewing machine instruction book to find them, and you should not need a screw. I use a brother se-350, google "brother se-350 how to attach a walking foot" you'll be so happy you did. It's an easy install (I don't think it matters what machine you have, but if you would like to use your brand to google for help, that should work just fine too). If you are sewing through more than 6 layers you may have to help it "walk" just a little, like mitering a denim corner or something like that. I am not sorry I went generic versus name brand. By the way- I love the refurbished brother se-350 embroidery machine I bought here on overstock.
Upon receiving my walking foot, there wer no direction on how to attach it to the sewing machine. Nor did I recive a screw with it that needs to fit the walking foot. So I am still looking for direction and a screw so i am able to use my walking foot.
I love this product. I have hestitated buying a walking foot because I didn't think one would work on my treadle sewing machine, but I was certainly wrong. This one works great on my 1940s vintage Singer.
Thanks to mnibecke, too, for including directions on how to attach the foot to my machine. I think I could have figured it out if there hadn't been the darning foot in the package, too, just to confuse me!
