Since most of the local yarn shops that were near me have closed I have had to get some of my yarn through the internet. This swift makes winding the yarn into wonderful center pull balls so easy with the ball winder. I was able to wind several different yarns with little trouble and time. It sure beats walking all over the house leaving a trail of yarn behind you to latter be wound into a very ugly ball (or tangle so bad that you had to cut it). The only word to the wise is don't stand with your face near the swift as the last of the yarn comes off. The swift will fly outward from the centrifugal force of spinning and without the yarn to hold it in it flies come out rather quick. I had read this on a web site so set my winding station in a way I was far enough away from the swift. I know there are nicer looking swifts out there but for the price this one is great.

i had the wire swift, also for sale on this site. I threw it away. This one made winding so very easy, plus it looks nice.

I've read several reviews about how quickly products arrived after international orders had been placed, but even then I was amazed at how quickly the order arrived. The winder opens to such a wide range that it makes it useful. I also ordered the Yarn Ball Winder, which is also a superb purchase. These two items work together amazingly well, and I was able to spin 1500 yds of lace yarn into a neat ball in 10 minutes!! They both clamp onto a table to use, but even though I have a glass dining table, there was no problem whatsoever. A definite must-have if you deal with skeins of yarn on a regular basis.

I love this swift. You can adjust the size of your hank so people can see the colors. Also helps you measure if you set it at 72 inches. Then just count the number of strands, x2 and you know how many yards are there!

I have had great results using this, it works as described. The only thing I would do if there was a next time is to order a medium or small size for home use.

great product, fast shipping, excellent value. Would buy from this vendor again. Easier to buy on internet rather than drive from store to store and not be able to find correct item.

I have been winding yarn by hand for years. With this has changed everything especially on a big project. I was able to do 7 skeins of yarn very quickly and easliy.
