This is a great book to learn from. The instructions and pictures are clear and easy to follow. I tried another book, but didn't grasp the concept of basic stitch. With this book however I was pleasently on my way. I would suggest to get the book that has the needles as part of a kit. I prefer needle tatting over shuttle tatting, perhaps because I've crocheted and knitted for so long.
