Although I have not yet used this particular reel of beading wire, I have used a previous reel, and discovered that no needle was necessary. With needles, the bead hole width I often use is not large enough to slide over the needle, but eliminating the needle will save half your wire for another piece. This is good stuff. I have not had a breakage problem, either, but I strengthen contacts with a strong, fast-drying glue. Good system.
