I have been researching like crazy for the right surger for me. Being a newby and not the most educated sewist I didn't know what to look for. I found this surger, and I went to the singer web site to research the different surgers. Of course this one was a little hard to find because it was sold as a set with a sewing machine. I did find the downloadable product sheet on the description page for this surger on the Overstock web site. What a blessing Overstock thinks of it all. This is a new Machine and it came with the Shirring, Blind Hem, and the Ruffle feet. It has the built in thread cutter and even comes with a cute needle threader. This Surger came threaded with 4 spools and even a piece of fabric to play with. Looks friendly enough to thread when I need to. And this machine has the option to sew without the cutter.. Well I did it I used this Surger and played a while. I haven't made anything yet but I am not afraid now, and excited to get started.

Ther seems to be a problem with it continuing to break theright side needle. I have used a serger for 12 years needed a new one. this was a good price but it keeps braking all the needles and where I live it's nearly i,possibleto get replacements at the volum I would need.
