tgibson2 from Chicagoland, IL, Rating:4.0I love this machine. I have sewn several things on it so far. I cannot speak to all the fancy stitches because I only use the straight and locking stitch, but it is definitely more powerful than my basic Singer mechanical machine I got 2 years ago. It is much more quiet, I love the extension table. I have yet to get thread jam on this one. I do not have to worry about tension, it adjusts for me, nor do I have to worry about running out of bobbin thread in the middle of a project because I can see it through the clear cover. This is described by overstock and singer has having a extra high presser foot, but I really do not think so... my old machine was higher. The free arm isn't as free as it should be. sandy046 from Queensland, Australia, Rating:5.0I was a bit apprehensive purchasing a product from overseas sight unseen, but other reviews I had read were mostly positive, so I went ahead and purchased this Brother Se400 [refurbished] sewing machine which was advertised at a great price. The sale went through with no hassels. I was able to track my order throughout it's shipment and it arrived in good time. I must say I had to sit and look at it for a week whilst awaiting my transformer to arrive. [purchased locally] And just a word of advice for international purchasers, don't forget your transformer, and make sure it is a step up or down voltage transformer depending on which country you live, here in Australia you would need a step down transformer, to reduce our 240v to 110 v power. The machine is in perfect condition and works great, all accessories were included, what more can I say, except I'm happy with my purchase and can highly recommend the Brother SE400 and Overstock.
