The manual is somewhat confusing. You really need to search for answers to your questions about technical questions. It is hard to find certain info like how to increase/decrease tension on the feeder foot. Overall, a very nice machine. But a video of the product would have been most helpful !

This has got to be one of the worst things I have ever bought for the price. I read the reviews and thought they looked pretty good, but boy were they wrong! This was a Christmas gift for my four year old grand daughter that went BAD! She was so excited on Christmas when she got her machine and then....It would not work! What a disappointment.

I'm using the machine primarily to quilt. It does a wonderful job and I've completed two quilts already!

I purchased this sewing machine because I needed a machine that I could attach a quilting foot to. It is a pleasure to use. It's easy to move around (in case you are like me and don't have a dedicated sewing place). It is well made and quiet. It makes the stitches you ask it to make and winding the bobbin is easy. I like that you can see the level of bobbin thread through the see through cover. The needle threader is very nice; I do wish that it had a thread cutter. The instruction book that comes with the machine is well written and makes starting up everything a piece of cake. I totally recommend this machine if you are like me and don't want a machine with a computer in it.

I love this little machine! It is so easy to use! I started quilting and wanted a wider arm. This is perfect! The machine is light weight and easy to move. I am so happy I decided to purchase a new machine! Can not say enough about the extra speed this baby puts out. Goes through thick seems and layers with easy! If you are in the market like me and looking for a new or even a second machine, this is the one!!! Thanks again Singer for another wonderful product.

I really like this sewing machine. I bought it to replace another Brother that I had. My only issue has been that the foot pedal quit working, so I had to get a new one from a Brother Sewing Service center. I have made 5 Quilts since I got it in January.

This is exactly what I wanted. I have tested all the stitches and it works very well, it is very quiet compared with my old machine. I can't wait to get going on some sewing projects.

this is a basic machine w/no frills, but it is heavy duty, & i mean it can sew thru 4-6 layers of denim w/o breaking or even bending needles, this is exactly what i wanted w/o paying an arm & a leg. very reasonable priced! quite a find!

Love this machine! Easy to use! The only thing I don't like about it is the fact it is very light weight and often moves when I am working on my quilts. Otherwise, I love the machine..

I'm new to sewing, but this machine has been great so far, except for a few hiccups at the beginning. I had some tension issues that couldn't be resolved with the tension control, but a change in needle (even though the machine and needle were brand new) and re-winding of the bobbin seemed to fix things right up. The stitches still seem a bit off, but not bad and I've sewn a bunch of things already that have come out fine. This machine is great for a beginner like me since it's relatively inexpensive and comes with a lot of extra accessories like different presser feet. There are definitely other machines out there that seem like better quality, but for the same price they come with far fewer extras. I'm happy so far!

I purchased the Brother SE400 for myself a few years ago and love the quick easy to follow instructions. The machine is perfect. I have gained more knowledge of sewing in two sessions with the Brothers SE400 than I have with any other sewing machine. I dont sew well or often, but this machine helped me to look almost like a professional. I was able to make superman capes with emblems for each of my grandchildren and they were over joyed. If you dont know how to sew, or have little experience sewing and little to no embroidery experience this it the macine for you. For those with extensive experience, I believe you would love the easy smooth way this machine works.

Looking for a dependable sewing machine for my granddaughter for Christmas. This one has all the features I am looking for at a very reasonable price. I have a computerized Kenmore(which I love) that I bought a couple of years ago for about $200 more and this one has the same features as mine.

Though we have not been able to put the sewing machine through a thorough test, the simple tasks are what we expected.

SO FAR THE MACHINE HAS WORKED BUT THERE ARE SOME GLITCHES IN IT. THE COVER DOES NOT FIT AT ALL SO YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN TRANSPORTING IT
